Caregiver/DCW/HHA

Job Type: Full Time Part Time

Job requirements:

  • Must wear a face mask for the entire scheduled shift
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
  • Must pass a competency exam developed by the agency which meets PA state regulation
  • A negative two-step TB test or chest x-ray
  • A clean criminal background check
  • A physical and first aid/CPR certification

Job duties:

  • Completing all duties assigned in the client’s Care Plan
  • Assisting the client with daily activities including, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, ambulation, and feeding
  • Supporting and providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members
  • Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning/sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms; laundry, etc.
  • Planning and preparing meals for clients that meet their nutritional needs
  • Assisting the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Care Plan
  • Reminding the client to take self-administered medications
  • Observing and reporting any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to supervisor or agency manager and any other needed parties in a timely manner
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and coworkers
  • Participating in continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as required
  • Completing required documentation of services delivered, including time sheets, promptly
  • Using equipment and supplies safely and properly
  • Maintaining client confidentiality at all times
  • Performing any other duties as assigned
