Job requirements:
- Must wear a face mask for the entire scheduled shift
- Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
- Must pass a competency exam developed by the agency which meets PA state regulation
- A negative two-step TB test or chest x-ray
- A clean criminal background check
- A physical and first aid/CPR certification
Job duties:
- Completing all duties assigned in the client’s Care Plan
- Assisting the client with daily activities including, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, ambulation, and feeding
- Supporting and providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members
- Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning/sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms; laundry, etc.
- Planning and preparing meals for clients that meet their nutritional needs
- Assisting the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Care Plan
- Reminding the client to take self-administered medications
- Observing and reporting any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to supervisor or agency manager and any other needed parties in a timely manner
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and coworkers
- Participating in continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as required
- Completing required documentation of services delivered, including time sheets, promptly
- Using equipment and supplies safely and properly
- Maintaining client confidentiality at all times
- Performing any other duties as assigned
